Duncan announces run for Walla Walla County Commissioner

JIM DUNCAN NEWS RELEASE -- Jim Duncan the Director of Walla Walla County Emergency Management, is announcing his intention to run for the Walla Walla County Commissioner District #3 seat. Greg Tompkins is the current Walla Walla County Commissioner representing District #3. Commissioner Tompkins announced on Monday March 10th that he would not seek reelection this year for a fourth term.

Jim Duncan has lived in Eastern Washington for the past 17 years. He lives in Burbank and has a small two and a half acre ranch in progress. Duncan has excelled in the Emergency Management field for more than 8 years. He has been the Director of Walla Walla County Emergency Management for the past 3 years. Before becoming an Emergency Management professional he was a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force and is a Gulf War veteran. Duncan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Sociology and minoring in Criminology from Louisiana State University. He continued his education while attending graduate school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University earning a Master of Science degree with a double major in Management and Operations.

Jim Duncan after serving his country in the military and serving the Walla Walla community in Emergency Management is prepared to serve the taxpayers of Walla Walla County as a county commissioner. Duncan is a leader with personality, courage, clear vision and he has the work ethic to succeed. He has a conservative approach to budgeting and looks forward to continuing the good work that the past and present Walla Walla County Commissioners have done. Jim Duncan is a Republican.
