Hanford contractor wasted millions on leaking tank

HANFORD, Wash. -- Two weeks ago the Department of Energy submitted what's called a "pumping plan" to the state. The feds' proposal is to pump the tank in 2020.

Most likely that will now be scrapped and have to be done much quicker since it's likely the tank is now leaking into the soil.

During the months WRPS looked the other way when red flags came in that the tank was leaking, Susannah Frame found that the company continued to spend millions on tank upgrades for work that is now useless because the tank is broken.
