Report: Ellen Barkin engaged to Amal Clooney's colleague
Actress Ellen Barkin is reportedly engaged to a British lawyer she met at George Clooney's Italian wedding last year.
The "Sea of Love" star, 60, is said to have struck up a relationship with barrister Ben Emmerson, a colleague of Clooney's new wife Amal, at the nuptials in September.
The couple embarked on a whirlwind romance and 51-year-old Emmerson proposed over the Christmas holidays, according to Us Weekly magazine.
A source says, "She is so happy and in love again. Ellen met him at George and Amal's wedding and they totally hit it off. It happened quickly but she's totally fallen for him and flies to see him all the time. He is really handsome and smart and charming and swept her off her feet."
The insider reveals Barkin and Emmerson's romance has even been given the seal of approval from the Clooneys, adding, "George and Amal love them together! They both love Ellen and Ben, so they think this is so great and love that they made a great match happen."
A representative for Barkin had yet to respond to requests for a comment.
If the news is true, this will be Barkin's third wedding - she was previously married to actor Gabriel Byrne, the father of her two children, and Ronald O. Perelman, who she divorced in 2006.
