YAKIMA, Wash. -- Police said two teenage boys were shot Tuesday morning near 3rd St. and Maple.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and was not expected to survive, Yakima police said.

A 17-year-old boy was also shot, they said. He was transferred to a Seattle hospital for further treatment.

Multiple shots were fired and officials said they planned to remain on the scene all day investigating.

Nobody was taken into custody. Police said they were searching for a person of interest.

They said it was too early to tell if the shooting was gang-related.
