87-year old woman stabbed to death in Kennewick

KENNEWICK POLICE NEWS RELEASE -- At 2:58 PM January 27, 2012 Kennewick Police were called to 3324 W 19th Ave Lot # 165 for a report of a deceased female. Officers arrived and located Viola P Williams, 87, deceased in her residence. Through information provided to investigators, Adam Ryan Williams, 28, was identified as a person of interest.

Kennewick Police requested West Richland Police attempt to contact Adam Williams at his residence in West Richland. West Richland Officers contacted Adam Williams at his residence and through an initial investigation were able to detain him.

Kennewick Police responded to West Richland and took custody of the suspect and he was brought to Kennewick Police Department for questioning. Adam Ryan Williams is being held at this time on charges of Homicide and will be booked at the Benton County Corrections Center.

No other suspects are being sought in connection with this crime. There was no forced entry into the residence. The victim and the suspect are related.

Kennewick Police is continuing the investigation at this time. The Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Unit has been requested and is responding to assist in Crime Scene processing.

The Benton County Coroner has scheduled an autopsy for Monday, January 30th. No additional information will be released at this time.
