A Dog's Chance: pup is thriving after getting shot twice in the head
TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- A powerful pup survived two gunshots to the head last month, and now, if it weren't for his battle scars you'd never know it.
Rez runs, slobbers, and plays just like any other dog. But last month a group of friends found him badly injured on a mountain near Pendleton and took him in.
Rez lost an eye and a few teeth. His care-takers have been trying to find his owners ever since.
They say he's recovering wonderfully--he's put on 20 pounds and is adjusting well.
"He endured a lot up on that mountain,” caretaker Angela Zilar said. “Whatever happened, he's a fighter. He's a survivor. And to come out of that with the attitude that he does, where he's just full of kisses and love every day is amazing to me."
Zilar said his history is still a mystery.
Se hasn't gotten any leads as to who owned him, but will wait a couple more weeks. And then she said Rez will likely be put up for adoption.
