BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- The man accused of the death of a Richland nine month old has been brought back to Benton County and booked into jail.

Jose Luis Aguilar was booked after 9pm Tuesday night. He went before a Benton County on Wednesday. He plead not guilty to manslaughter charges. His trial is set to begin in August.

Aguilar was living with Reed's mother at the time of the baby's death. Court papers say the baby suffered severe vaginal trauma and had fractures to her skull when she was found dead in her crib June 7th.

Aguilar was arrested on a Greyhound bus in Barstow, California. He told Tri-Cities investigators he intended to come back to Benton County, but the prosecutor believes he was trying to flee to Mexico. He was arrested June 8th and has been held in a California jail until he could be transported back to Washington.
