The group "Prevent Homeless Pets" received a 12 thousand dollar check. It came from an anonymous donor and the money will help pay rent on their new building, plus add equipment. The group hopes to take in more stray cats to be fixed.
"Everybody says well, it's not my cat, why should I take care of it, but it's a community problem and it's the fewer that are going homeless, as our name says, protect homeless pets," said director, Harriet Johnson.
The money also goes to help working with local animal control agencies to catch strays in our area.
