Assurance Wireless offers free smart phone for low income households
PASCO, Wash. - For many families struggling to pay bills, a local wireless company in Pasco is now offering free smart phones to qualifying low-income households.
The no-cost cell phone service, is provided through free government assistance.
In order to qualify, customers must provide a valid license, social security number and prove they receive some form of government aid.
Each month, customers will receive 350 voice minutes and unlimited texting.
Manager at Assurance Wireless said it’s one less bill you have to worry about and it's a great service especially when trying to maintain a job.
"If you don't have an email, if you don't have some sort of communication with your managers, it’s going to be really hard and a lot of people unfortunately don't have the funds to provide for a smart phone."
To sign up for a free cell phone, you can visit Pasco Goodwill, Mon. through Tues. and Thur. through Fri. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
