Athena woman charged with attempted murder after poisoning daughter
PENDLETON, Ore. - A woman is charged with attempted murder after she admitted to slipping a drug in a drink to try to kill her daughter.
Umatilla County deputy Trevor Limburg arrested Roxy Brook Pridgen, 36, of Athena, November 12.
Reports from UCSO said Pridegen admittedly put a quantity of a prescribed drug in her juvenile daughter's drink in an attempt to kill her because they were fighting.
Her child then became ill after consuming the drink, according to law enforcement.
Deputies said Pridgen is reported to have a mental illness and takes the prescribed drugs she put in her daughter's drink.
She is now lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.
The Umatilla County District Attorney's Office will be investigating this case.
