And we learned the numbers are actually positive.This year violent incidents with stabbings have decreased by about 35%.
Despite that, the most recent incident happened just a *couple of days ago. It happened when two men got into a fight and one of them was stabbed.
Police tell us budget cuts mean they often have to do more with less.
"We're not nearly as proactive as we have been in the past, so quite often we're just in reactive mode. A crime gets committed, and we respond, we investigate," said Walla Walla Police Officer Tim Bennett.
Detectives say they're still investigating the latest violent case.
