PASCO, Wash. -- KEPR is following up on the change in pet laws.. Allowing people to keep backyard chickens. Six months after the change, Pasco says the new law is going great. Neighbors were concerned about noise.. but they haven't heard a 'peep. KEPR stopped in with one family who's reaped the benefits of 3 eggs a day, and says the chickens have provided more than just nutrition.
Chicken owner, Amelia Larson says, "My kids really love it. That's what makes me happy. They run out every morning and check for eggs.. it's like being on a farm."
To keep chickens within city limits, you must have a coop like this one and five thousand square feet in your yard.
