The Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo kicks off August 22nd.

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- "The Best Week of Summer" is creeping up, with several new surprises in store.

The Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo kicks off August 22.

This year’s rodeo expands into four nights of qualifying rounds, becoming the 25th largest rodeo in the country.

Headlining the entertainment for the week is Boyz II Men, Joan Jet and the Blackhearts, Trace Adkins, the Eli Young Band and sixties phenomenon “War”.

New this year is the Lourdes Family Rejuvenation Station and a Combined Wine Garden and Taphouse that are sure to please various crowds. An expanded Extreme Zone will also treat visitors to a haunted "Scaregrounds" preview coming this Halloween season.

"We have a lot of interactive things out there for people to go and play and do, bigger volume things that we really couldn't fit inside the fairgrounds anymore,” said Executive Director Lori Lancaster. “With your fair ticket you'll be able to go right into the park from the carnival and be able to enjoy all those things as well."

An Uber lounge is also coming to the fair - a comfortable, convenient and safe way to ride to and from home.
