Big money being put toward sidewalks around the mall

KENNEWICK, WA. - Kennewick just received a large check to touch up some of the sidewalks and walkways around Columbia Center Mall.

The city received a quarter-million to fix, replace, and repave the ramps and crosswalk areas around the mall. Here is a look at a couple of the priority areas. Columbia Center Boulevard is the main focus with the corners of Quinalt Avenue and Okanogan Boulevard.

It seems like a large chunk of change for just some crosswalks and sidewalks that we really don't have much foot traffic for," said Kennewick resident Donnell Tallman.

Kennewick has given no timetable for when the project will begin, but said it should not take up too much time.
