Big money put toward Columbia Center

KENNEWICK, Wash. - KEPR has learned some major road work is coming to Kennewick's busiest road. Part of Columbia Center is set to be repaved.

Kennewick secured federal dollars for two large projects, the first being Highway 395 and Ridgeline, which would include a new, full access intersection, along with widening the highway. The second is the repaving on Columbia Center Boulevard from Quinalt to Clearwater. That project alone would cost nearly a million dollars, paid for with federal money.

"I think there are a lot of necessities in the Tri-Cities, especially community services need and people in need," said one resident named "Teddi."

Kennewick staff say that the improvements on Columbia Center Boulevard are part of the regualr maintenance schedule, and have no specific start dates.
