Blood donations increase in the Tri-Cities

TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- If you end up in the hospital, plenty of blood could save your life.

Last year, the Tri-Cities Red Cross saw a 13% in blood donations.

So far in 2013, the numbers are up an additional 14%.

It means the local blood supply is totally full.

The extra supply has allowed local folks to donate blood for major news events like the Superstorm Sandy disaster.

We're told our local blood supply is so strong, that we're also sending extra supplies to Spokane and Portland.
