Boy unharmed after crashing scooter

PASCO, Wash. -- A child is lucky to be alive after being hit by car in downtown Pasco.

Police say the the child was riding his scooter along a sidewalk when he went around a corner and ran into a truck. It happened Saturday morning on Lewis Street and 4th Avenue.

Amazingly, he escaped with only some cuts and bruises. Police say they're relieved the boy is okay.

"We prepare for traffic, vehicle-on-vehicle, but we don't see a lot of children on scooters getting hit by trucks. So I'm very happy that nothing bad happened to him," said Pasco Police officer Adam Wright.

Police say no charges will be filed against the driver.
