Campaign to get dropouts to return to school

KENNEWICK - Getting our most at-risk teens back in school. It was the goal of Kennewick School District this morning.

School officials knocked on the doors of dozens of high school dropouts. Asking them to return to school. Last year, two students graduated from CBC High School Academy as a result of the outreach.

There are still a couple others who are working on their diplomas. Officials say every kid is important. We talked to one dropout who hopes others choose better.

"I'd say, stick it out until the end. Get your high school diploma and then go from there. If you want to go to college, go to college. If you want to start your own business, start your own business," said High School Dropout Alva Moffatt.

CBC High School Academy serves about 50 students at a time from any of the big three districts.
