Car prowls hit Richland neighborhood

RICHLAND, Wash. -- The KEPR Crime Tracker is following an outbreak of car prowls in Richland.

In just the last week or so, nine cars have been broken into in and around this neighborhood just south of Columbia Park Trail near Canyon Drive. Some cars had their windows smashed in. Neighbors we spoke to are uneasy.

"This is a pretty safe neighborhood, we thought. I think we'll be a little be a little bit more conscious of what we see and who's in the neighborhood and maybe watch out for our neighbors a little bit more," says neighbor Connie Corcoran.

Police say there's only one way into the neighborhood where the cluster of break-ins happened, which makes them more suspicious. It's also a well lit neighborhood.
