Census: Tri-Cities ranked fastest growing metro in the nation

CITY OF PASCO NEWS RELEASE -- A population report released today by the U.S. Census Bureau showed the Tri-Cities area the fastest growing metro area in the nation for 2010-2011, with Franklin County the fifth fastest growing county.

The Census' 2011 population estimate showed 264,133 residents for the Tri-Cities (Kennewick-Richland-Pasco) metro area, a 4.3% increase over 2010. Franklin County, which includes Pasco, grew 6.8% over 2010 for an estimated population of 83,455.
