Child molestation trial pushed back for Pasco city council-member
PASCO, Wash. - A Pasco city council-member charged with child molestation will be tried in November.
Pasco city council-member Chi Flores was charged with two counts of child molestation in May 2017 following a police investigation that alleges he inappropriately touched his daughter's eight-year-old friend on two separate occasions.
The council-member pleaded not guilty to these charges June 20 in Franklin County Superior Court.
If convicted, he could face a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $50,000 fine for each charge.
Flores has been a member of city council since November 2016.
Flores' trial was initially set for Sept. 6, but as of Sept. 26, it is set to take place Nov. 15, 2017.
His next court hearing is scheduled for October 31.
