CRIME TRACKER: Gang Graffiti Down 58% in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- KEPR is checking-in on a program that targets gang members by going after graffiti.

A year ago, the Benton County Gang Unit partnered with local road crews to spot taggings.

Road workers alert the gang team any time they come across some.

Since the partnership began, the number of gang graffiti cases in Benton County has dropped by more than half.

There were only a dozen reports of gang graffiti in Benton County this past year.

That compares to more than 30 the year before.
