CRIME TRACKER: Huge drop in violent crime in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. -- KEPR is looking more closely at violent crime in Pasco.

Since the Street Crimes Unit came online, murders, robberies, and assaults are down substantially.

There's also been a sizable drop in abductions and weapons violations.

Beefed up patrols are the biggest reason for the decline.

The street crimes unit focuses on specific crimes in different parts of town.

Police tell Action News the same criminals are often responsible for more than one crime.

So by getting them off the streets, it's caused a ripple affect overall.
