Criminal charges not likely in Prosser crash

PROSSER-- State Patrol tells KEPR it is done investigating the wreck that killed a Prosser high schooler and her mom.

Troopers do *not recommend criminal charges for the driver accused of causing the accident last month.

State Patrol will forward its report to the Benton County Prosecutor -- with the recommendation that the driver receive a ticket for crossing the center line.

Troopers had initially said the driver was distracted when he ran into 14 year-old Alejandra Islas and her mother on Route 22.

It will be up to the prosecutor to decide if criminal charges are warranted.
