Detectives seize drugs, cash, cars at Sasquatch! Festival

EPHRATA, Wash. -- In what must be the law enforcement equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel, the Grant County Sheriff's Office's Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team cracked down on drug violations during the popular Sasquatch! Festival at the Gorge earlier this month, seizing drugs, cash and cars.

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, undercover agents and detectives from the Sheriff's Office, the Moses Lake Police Department and the Washington State Patrol bought or seized several pounds of marijuana and marijuana edibles and more than 100 doses of ecstasy and LSD from the campsite adjacent to the music festival.

In addition to drugs, the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested at least eight people, served more than 13 search warrants, made more than 40 requests for felony charges and seized three vehicles and more than $20,000 in cash.

"INET and their partners work to keep the Gorge safe for all concertgoers," Sheriff Tom Jones said in a press release. "INET's work is valuable in stopping major drug activity in Grant County, and I am proud of the work they do."

No word on if anyone will be arrested for the crime of charging $13 for a beer during Sasquatch! But, you can check out KOMO's excellent photos from the festival here, here, here and here.
