Discover Pass still keeping people away from state parks

PASCO, Wash. --- The Discover Pass is still keeping many people from enjoying our state parks.

For the third summer in a row, there's been a drop in visitors at Sacajawea State Park in Pasco.

Under the Discover Pass, folks have had to pay $30 to get a yearly pass at Sacajawea.

A one-day visit is $10.

A few years after those fees were introduced, many people still refuse to pay them.

Since the changes went into effect, overall attendance at Sacajawea has dropped nearly a third.

Despite the struggles, lawmakers have no plans to scrap the Discover Pass.
