Richland, Wash, - Richland police are once again reminding you not to leave anything of value inside your vehicle.

Richland police say there were reports of five car prowls this weekend and this happened to both locked and unlocked vehicles.

One of the victims thinks a firearm was taken.

Police say most of the time these are crimes of opportunity and usually take place in a residential complex.

Captain Mike Cobb, said "One of the things we encourage everyone to do if you see something that is out of place, see someone peering into vehicles or trying door handles, make sure you call, not all of these are during the hours of darkness but many of them are."

Within the past week Richland police have made several arrests in relation to car prowls and will continue working to find the suspects from these most recent car prowls.
