Dozens of gay couples married in Tri-Cities

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- KEPR learned plenty of same sex couples have tied knot here in the Tri-Cities.

So far, 31 gay couples have gotten married in Benton County.

That translates to about two new marriages a week.

County workers tell us there have been more cases than they originally expected.

One man who just applied for a license says he's encouraged by the news.

"It shows the fact that it doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, or is love and it's great," says Roberto Rosales

Gay marriages now represent a tenth of all marriage cases in Benton County.
