Federal Courthouse in Richland celebrates a new third floor courtroom
RICHLAND, Wash. - There is now a new addition to the U.S. District Court at the Federal Courthouse in Richland.
On Thursday, May 10, there was a celebration for the new third floor courtroom.
U.S. District Court Judge, Salvador Mendoza, said the project was necessary in order to help serve our growing community.
He said in the past cases would transfer to Yakima or Spokane.
The added floor will allow for cases to remain in the Tri-Cities.
The expansion includes new safety cameras along with added computer screens for court hearings.
