Fire crews battle fire next to Pasco cemetery
PASCO, Wash. —
Multiple fire crews tackled a fire that burned on the edge of the City View Cemetery in Pasco.
Firefighters responded around 9:30 P.M. Saturday to a fire could be seen from Interstate 182.
According to the Pasco Fire Department, the cause is unknown, but likely started from a passing car on the nearby onramp.
PFD says the fire burned through sagebrush, grass and leaves.
It did not burn into the cemetery, but did burn into City View’s maintenance area.
Crews from Pasco Fire, Richland Fire and Kennewick Fire all responded.

PFD says drivers need to be aware of what they throw out of their vehicles - especially cigarettes - now that fire season has arrived.
