Four injured in Walla Walla County crash

WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. -- Four people were injured Saturday afternoon after a car crossed the center line and hit an SUV south of College Place.

Washington State Patrol says 29-year-old Marco Espana of Walla Walla was driving north on Old Milton Highway when his Honda Accord drifted into the southbound lane. The car then crashed head-on into a Ford Explorer traveling south, causing the SUV to roll onto its top.

Espana was taken to St. Mary Medical Center, along with the three occupants of the Explorer, 47-year-old Juan Esparza, 45-year-old Luisa Contreras and 9-year-old Evelyn Esparza Contreras.

Charges for the crash are still pending. Troopers say they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
