Hanford Reach may expand

RICHLAND, Wash. -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to expand Hanford Reach.

The agency is looking into using land from the Hanford nuclear reservation to expand the national monument.

There's a lot of local support for the national park.

The land in question should be cleaned by the end of next year, and then proposals will go to Congress.

Until then, the land is off-limits to the public.
