Heroes for Hope boosts support for autism

      KENNEWICK - The fight against autism got a major boost today--- care of a the first-ever Heroes for Hope golf tournament.

      The Carson Kolzig Foundation put on the event - in honor of Autism Awareness month. The organization serves more than a thousand families who have children on the autism spectrum.

      60 people showed up to play putt-putt and raise awareness today. Parents tell us it really takes a village to raise a child with autism.

      "They're helping parents like us figure out - how do we take this wonderful kid who has every ability to succeed in life - how do we help him make those steps," parent of child on autism spectrum Randy Way.

      In total, more than $1,500 was raised from today's event.
