Hoedown in town supports people with special needs
PASCO, Wash. - The Tri-Cities got a little bit country tonight, and all for a good cause.
Rascal Rodeo hosted their third annual Honky Tonk Hoedown fundraiser at the Red Lion in Pasco. The non-profit focuses on the abilities of people with special needs rather than their disabilities.
The festivities included live and silent auction items, western dancing, and a great buffet meal. Paul Whitemarsh, member of the Rascal Rodeo board, told KEPR why it’s so important to receive support from the local community year after year:
“We’re a private non-profit that puts on rodeo events for special needs people. We put on 16 of them a year around the Northwest. It’s just amazing to see the kinds of things that special needs people can do when you put them in a rodeo environment.”
