All that plunging was for a good cause. $70,000 was raised for Special Olympics Washington. Some jumped in fully-clothed, while others resorted to swimsuits. Toyota of Tri-Cities donated the most, giving a whopping $5,000.
"I figure it's for a good cause. I mean, Special Olympics is something we all need to support. so if I can spend five seconds getting freezing and help these athletes, it's worth it," said plunger Aaron Loehndorf.
"You don't feel it at first, and then you comprehend where you are and what you're doing, and it's like, 'wow. I can't believe I just did that," said Miss Outstanding Teen Tri-Cities Reagan Rebstock.
Kennewick Police organized the event. Tri-Tech firefighters helped set up.
