Love was convicted of multiple violent sexual assaults. He served his sentence in prison, but the state continued to hold him in what is known as a civil commitment. The trial was to determine if he could be a free man for good.
The jury agreed it was likely Love would be a danger if he was let out, but it is unknown how long he will be put away.
"If the special commitment center decides he is not an SVP, then we have another trial, so it's impossible to say exactly how long this would be for," said Assistant Attorney General Thomas Howe.
The state says Love will be given a review hearing every year.
