Kadlec using Bikes to Motivate

RICHLAND, Wash. - KEPR has told you how we are one of the fattest cities in the nation. Kadlec is looking to do its part to change that by having employees get more active.

Kadlec recently reduced the number of shuttles taking employees from the parking lot to the facilities. Encouraging more to walk or borrow one of two bikes the hospital purchased. At a thousand dollars a piece, Kadlec paid for it with money received in recycling cans.

"It just helps their attitude when they are at work and makes them feel a lot better when they are doing it, it makes them more vital to the company that way," said Kadlec Director Chase Walters.

Kadlec plans to add two more bikes by the end of the year, also paid for by recycling goods.
