Kennewick city and district trade land

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Normally you hear about trades when it comes to sports, but, in Kennewick, the city and the school district have made a trade of their own.

Kennewick Schools will swap the old administration building for the ownership of Roy Johnson Field, with staff saying the properties are valued the same. The city could use the building to expand City Hall, and the district receiving the baseball field will finally give Kennewick High a true home field.

"Now that we own it, we are able to make improvements and make it an excellent ball field for the Kennewick Lions," said Kennewick Superintendent, Dave Bond.

There's hope of improving the field to include new grass, refurbished dugouts, and new seating.
