Kennewick man arrested on domestic violence charge

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A Kennewick man is in jail after police say he assaulted his girlfriend over the weekend.

Michael Lorenzi, Jr., has been charged with second-degree assault.

The Kennewick Police Department responded to the 4700 block of West Metaline Avenue Sunday morning after a caller reported she had received an incoherent call from her sister. The caller told police she heard Lorenzi, the woman's boyfriend, shouting and cursing in the background.

Officers say that, when they arrived, they found that the woman was suffering from a stroke and that she had been assaulted.

Investigators say they concluded that Lorenzi and the victim had gotten into a dispute Saturday night and that Lorenzi had assaulted her.

The victim is receiving treatment at Trios Medical Center.
