Kennewick plants several new trees for Arbor Day
KENNEWICK, Wash. – The City of Kennewick is celebrating Arbor Day by planting several new trees in Highlands Grange Park.
Volunteers from lamb Weston, Benton PUD and the Mid-Columbia Community Forestry Council helped plant eight trees throughout the park.
The mayor said Arbor Day is a wonderful opportunity to get outside and celebrate all while helping our environment and our community.
"It does help with the climate control, trees help our property value of our citizens homes in the city of Kennewick, air filtration is another important aspect that trees provide and there's just many, many more."
Trees provide additional benefits, such as adding beauty, reducing pollution and providing windbreaks.
