Kennewick police arrest man accused of hit-and-run

KENNEWICK POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE -- On 03/16/14 at approximately 11:57 AM in the 400 block of S. Rainier Street in Kennewick, Eric King, was driving southbound on South Rainier Street from West 4th Avenue. Eric struck another citizen's vehicle that was legally parked along the side of the roadway, causing injury to an occupant who was inside of the vehicle. Eric failed to stop at the collision, despite the fact his vehicle had sever front end damage and the front passenger side air bag had deployed. Eric left the scene and was later seen by other citizens who reported his reckless driving in the area. Medics attended the victim at the scene while police canvassed the area for Eric and his vehicle. Shortly after, Pasco Police Department located Eric and his vehicle in the area of West Court Street and Road 48. Kennewick Police officers responded to the location and Eric was detained without incident. A witness to the hit and run collision identified Eric as the offender. Eric was booked at the Benton County Jail on suspicion of Hit and Run - Injury.
