Kennewick police arrest man over prank 911 calls

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick police have arrested a man they say has made as many as 25 prank calls to 911 since December.

Officers say the calls followed a similar pattern: Someone called dispatchers and reported an emergency at a trailer in the 2100 block of North Steptoe Street, then police arrived and found nothing was happening.

On Friday, the Kennewick Police Department says officers arrested 32-year-old Curtis Torres, who lives in the area where the phony incidents were reported, for making the fake calls.

Torres will be charged with felony malicious mischief.
