BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Detectives are investigating an alleged plot students devised to stab a classmate to death with a knife.

According to Benton County Sheriff's Office reports, three 16-year-old Kiona-Benton City High School students planned to kill an 18-year-old classmate in the back of the school market during lunch.

Detectives were informed of this incident when school staff and students said the three students tried to lure the victim to the orchard behind the market November 15, to then stab him with a knife.

The 18-year-old student was not harmed in this incident as the plan did not move forward.

School officials emergency expelled one of the male students and a female student involved, November 16, after they were informed of the incident. Officials just learned of the second male student's involvement Wednesday.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate this incident and is asking anyone with information to call 735-6555 or through the dispatch center at 628-0333.
