Kids with disabilities head out to the wild, wild west
RICHLAND, Wash. -- Local kids with disabilities put on their cowboy boots and spent the day out in the wild, wild west.
The ARC of Tri-Cities and CH2M saddled up for the 23rd Annual Partners N Pals Horseback Riding Day. The event welcomes more than 100 kids and young adults with special needs to share a day of laughter and riding horses. There was even a petting zoo and fun-filled games throughout the day.
CH2M volunteers and sponsors in the community help make this special day possible year after year.
"The kids just really love it and it's neat to interact with them in a way that you don't get to everyday," CH2M Operations Director Chris Lucas explained. "To bring the joy to these kids once a year is really rewarding. "
