KPD respond to three DUI crashes in 3 hours
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Three different drunken driving related accidents kept the Kennewick Police Department unusually busy Saturday night in what Officer Kirk Nebeker called an "anomaly".
The first took place shortly before 11 p.m. at the roundabout on Center Parkway and Grandridge Blvd.
Police said 27-year-old Stephanie Jensen jumped the curb and high-centered her car.
An hour later, 28-year-old Fernando Ramos drove through the roundabout on Hildebrand Blvd. just east of Highway 395 severely damaging his car.
The third took place at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday when 21-year-old Aquillina Ramiriz drove into the signal pole at Volland St. and Canal Dr.
All three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence.
Officer Nebeker told Action News to remind drivers to stay off the road if they've been drinking,
"It seems like around the holidays, the DUIs go up, but [Saturday] was extreme."
He said the Kennewick Police Department will continue to arrest drunk drivers and prosecute them to the full extent of the law this holiday season,
"It's not worth it. Call a cab, find a sober driver, or stay put."
