Lamb Weston facility in Richland celebrates it's expansion
RICHLAND, Wash. - A special ceremony was held to recognize the 290,000 square foot expansion that adds a new processing line.
Company leaders said the expansion will bring a big economic impact to the region with the production capacity expected to increase from 300 million to 600 million pounds of frozen french fries to be shipped annually across the U.S. and globally.
Plant Manager, Mark Schuster said “75% of the product stays within North America but 25-35% is exported and for the Richland plan most of it goes to the specific rim Asian markets. If you think about that product being here and going overseas we like to say hey we are truly feeding the world with our product.”
The new expansion has created 150 new positions with a plan to continue hiring throughout the year. For more information click here.
