WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Mid-Columbia Libraries are hosting newborn lambs at different branches throughout the Tri-Cities March 20 to 24.
Children can enjoy stories, songs, finger plays, and other activities while interacting with these storybook creatures. Rebecca Harkins, who worked at Mid-Columbia, has been taking members of her flock to libraries since 2009, in hopes of bringing their picture on the page to life.
“There are a lot of great stories about baby lambs,” Harkin said. “It really gives them something to tie it to and their reading is more real.”
The little ones entertained in West Richland on Monday.
Their next stops are the Keewaydin Park, Pasco, Kennewick, and West Pasco libraries. For more information, visit the Mid-Columbia Libraries website.
