Lincoln found not guilty of vehicular homicide

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A jury has found a 33-year-old woman accused of hitting and killing a man with her car near Benton City not guilty of vehicular homicide.

Prosecutors had argued Natalie Lincoln was under the influence of prescription medications when she crossed the center line on Van Giesen Street and struck 50-year-old Steven Covert.

But the defense said Lincoln had taken the medication for years and never had an issue while driving.

Lincoln told investigators the crash happened when she looked down from the road to adjust her cruise control.
