Max Faulkner, Owner of Jokers in Richland, "The public will have a lot more access to liquor sales at more hours, more locations, more hours, which could be harmful to the bar and night club owners and I think this might help mediate that negative effect on our income."
This was the third of four public hearings on the matter. The Liquor control board is also taking comments and testimony through mail and email.
Sharon Foster, Chair of the board, said, "We are hearing a lot of "we don't want this." We didn't hear it today in the Tri-Cities from anyone but I would say it's about fifty-fifty right now, what we're hearing."
The board will review the feedback by May 3, and then make a decision on accepting the petition to allow extended bar hours.
If accepted the change will go into effect in November.
