Local dentist partners with Education

RICHLAND, Wash. - Here's some good news, kids going to the dentist can mean more money for Tri-Cities schools. A Richland orthodontist is giving back for each new patient he gets.

It's called partners in education. For every new patient doctor Scott Ostler sees, he donates a hundred dollars to the school of their choice. Ostler orthodontics started the program back in 2010. The doc has donated more than a hundred grand in that time.

"It really helps out with a lot of the teachers and they get to have us do more field trips and do more fun things," said McLoughlin student Caiya Cunningham

Dr. Ostler tells KEPR that he does not dictate what the money is put toward. He intends to give back until he is no longer able.
